The Vilaque River Valley lies to the northwest of La Paz. Nuggets of solid bismuth were also found here in the 1980s and 1990s as part of gold mining using hydraulic mining. The location where these nuggets were found is often incorrectly given as Rio Quilaces, Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
